Gray & Pannell LLP Announces New Partner

(Savannah, Ga.) –Gray & Pannell LLP today announced that Atlanta attorney James R. Woodward will become a partner in the firm and that the firm’s name will change to Gray Pannell & Woodward LLP effective March 1, 2012. The firm is opening an Atlanta office, located in One Buckhead Plaza, 3060 Peachtree Road, N.W., Suite 730, Atlanta, Georgia 30305.

A graduate of Stanford University and the University of Virginia School of Law, Mr. Woodward has practiced law in Atlanta since 1999 specializing in public finance. He has been named as one of Georgia Trend magazine’s “Legal Elite”, a Georgia Rising Star, and has been listed in Southern Business & Development magazine’s “Trade Allies Law Firm Directory” as one of the top four best lawyers in Georgia for economic matters in the South’s 17 states.

“Jim Woodward is a great lawyer who has acted as bond counsel, underwriter’s counsel, and issuer’s counsel on numerous transactions in Georgia and the Southeast,” said Jim Pannell. “Merging our practice with his will give us increased experience and expertise and will help us serve clients more effectively. In addition to Woodward, the partners in the firm are Marvin A. Fentress, Thomas S. Gray, Jr., Kandice N. Harvey, James L. Pannell, and Jonathan B. Pannell. The firm was organized in 2008 to create a firm specializing in public finance, business law and commercial real estate law. Attorneys now practicing with the firm have given approving opinions over the past forty-five years as nationally recognized bond counsel for Georgia counties, cities, school districts and state and local authorities on hundreds of tax-exempt financings, including bonds for water and sewer, public power, hospital, school, housing,
road, courthouse, jail, airport and other public facilities. The members of the firm have extensive experience in the issuance of taxable, tax credit and private activity bonds.
